Stri Yoga is the brainchild of Yogini Uma Natarajan, a certified Yoga teacher and spiritual educator.

Women — throughout their lives — are in a state of transition with each stage bringing momentous physical, mental, hormonal and emotional changes.

And, while women have reserves of inherent strength and wisdom to cope with these changes, Yogini Uma felt that empowering women with holistic and integrative healthcare tools would help them tap into their innate reserves while also enhancing their overall health and wellness.

And, that was how Stri Yoga was born.

A former high-ranking banking executive, Yogini Uma decided to exchange ledgers for strengthening Yogic lunges, substitute savings accounts with energizing Surya Namaskaras and replace personal loans with soothing Pranayama in her new wellness portfolio.

But, rather than plunging straight in and driven by her innate banking training and caution, she decided to first learn the ropes by completing the rigorous Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course conducted by the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre.

Building upon this foundation, she has gone on to advance her learning and practice through the “Yoga Siromani” Diploma and the “Yoga Acharya” Master of Yoga certification that meets the Yoga Alliance RYT-500 certification standard.

For more than a decade, Yogini Uma has been helping women — through online and offline classes — explore the myriad benefits that Yoga offers for their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
